What is Codeine and Noscapine

Codeine : It is methyl morphine. A potent Cough

depressant with no respiratory depression and mind

analgesic action. Tolerance and addiction are mild and

rare after prolonged use.

Noscapine : Noscapine is an antitussive of choice.It acts

on the chemore-ceptor trigger-zone of cough provoking

centre and suppresses the cough without provoking

respiratory depression. It has no addiction.
